Lecture will include comparison of several different lymphatic massage techniques:Lauren Berry Method¨, Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainageª, Bruno ChiklyÕs Lymph Drainage Massageª & Manual Lymphatic Therapyª (Upledger Institute), Chi Nei Tsang Taoist Massage, Swedish Massage/Joint Mobilization. Also included: indications for which modality is considered more effective for what situations. Psycho-emotional components will be addressed as an integral part of the healing process. Correlative systems integrating emotional rebalancing techniques will be discussed. WHAT DOES LYMPH MASSAGE DO?: Lymphatic massage fortifies the blood and immune system through increasing the cellular exchange of wastes and nutrients. The natural restorative process of the filtering organs, elimnating wastes, cannot be carried out when the psycho-emotional environment is out of balance. All rejuvenative functions come to a halt when the para-sympatheic rhythm cannot be established long enough for cleansing and rebuilding. Stress, trauma, drugs, and environmental toxins contribute to deteriorating immunity. Lymph massage clears out debris and excess fluids, accelerates recovery from cancer and post-op problems, decreases mucous activity, swelling, edema, allergies, and helps to balance respiratory and digestive systems. It stimulates the natural filtering and cleansing actions of the body, creating better immune response and enhanced waste elimination. The encouragment of supported emotional expression during the healing process will greatly enhance all medical procedures. Lecture will include Ms. JavrilÕs protocal in Post-Surgical Intervention: techniques for post-operative and trauma recovery. This emphasizes scar tissue softening and adhesion reduction, which affects the fasciaÕs ability to allow fluid passage at the cellular level. Ms. JavrilÕs fundamental training is based on the work of Lauren Berry, RPT (Redding, CA 1918-1983) and also includes adjunctive and corroborative techniques from 25 years in the healing arts.
