 | I've been hooping since 2003, and since I'm constantly re-creating myself, (*chuckle!*), I'm developing a HYBRID FORM, a kind of Art Sport Improv, combining all the movement modalities I've studied.
My dear friend & dance buddy, Mary Alice
(mother to my Goddaughter, Rosie) advised me to describe my style, how
it's unique, and said "you should call it STRATA hooping" in a recent
phone conversation.
It turns out that phrase PRECISELY explains what I am DOING...!
...using multi-levels & spacial layers, different textures, variations, changing it up, cross-pollination & training...

Dear Friend, Over
& over, visitors in my home ask me where the kitty kat, or doggie,
or child is...? Looking around, they see my stuffed animals, footsie
rollers & various massage toys stashed everywhere.
Yes, I am a Taurus, ruled by Venus the Goddess of love & senusality, and admit I am a body fanatic! I love feeling not just good, rather - EXCELLENT - and take steps to maintain my body temple in a graceful & harmonious way.
I
believe that my habit of clearing out daily accumulation of wastes has
a lot to do with why I am in such terrific shape for my chronological
age (59). You might
not realize, I was a druggie & alcoholic in my twenties, and spent
my thirties doing liver cleansing, juice fasting & colonics.

I
use my massage toys as self-help tools on a regular & spontaneous
basis, whenever I'm inspired, feel hurt, get wiggly, or I'm just too
tired to take a hot bath!
My advice is to simply start to collecting fun items that appeal to your own personal habits, available space, and health needs. MAKE
SURE you will feel like PLAYING with your toys, and that they are
PRACTICAL ie: cheap, simple, easy to use, store and travel with.
REMEMBER! You
don't have to spend a lot of money, time or effort to jump start the
elimination process, and get rid of toxins BEFORE they become mulch
& fester in your body's stagnant storage compartments...

for lymphatic drainage, exercise, stretching, leg elevation, extra

• Shiatsu stick - self-massage for specific pressure points, using leverage principle based on Hawaiian ancient tool.
• AcuMassuer from Japan - squeezes trigger point for great relief, adjustable width between hard rubber balls.

Hand-held vibrating massage unit from Homemedics, has rechargable
batteries = green product, use on tummy for constipation, neck, back,
feet, carpal tunnel, hips, etc.
• Ting Ting head massager - with
copper wires, 4 speed vibrating pulses. Great for making your skin
prickle, which stimulates lymphatic fluid movement.
• Pain Eraser Balls (hard rubber with points) inside a sock for versatile techniques - feet, neck, hands, etc.

Tennis Balls in a sock - roll on floor with these on either side of
spine - softer, more resiliant, safer & better than wooden
"Ma-Roller". GET THESE!!
• Footsie roller - wood with grooved surface - I have 2, one is gentler.
NOTE:
Heat is always contraindicated when infection* by fungus, virus or
bacteria is present. TALK TO ME about heat & cold, because each
situation is always UNIQUE and needs specific protocol. ~ Marci's cell: 310-486-4753 text/voice.
• Ice Mask for achiness in head - resuable - I give as gifts!
• Ice/Heat pack - freeze or simmer - reusable - I have a few.
• Castor Oil - Edgar Cayce's general recipe for Castor Oil packs
with heat, can be applied to any congested, sore, achey, trobled areas.
If there is an open sore, do NOT use heat until infection* is gone.
• Heating Pad - do not sit or lie on top of this - use in 15 minute intervals.
•
Nylon Net Shower Scrubbie - holds soap, fits in travel bag, altho
synthetic, it dries quickly, doesn't build mold like lufa sponge (NOT
recommended).
• Natural Bristle Skin Brush - use DRY BEFORE SHOWER for lymphatic fluid stimulation and use WET for exfoliation in shower.
• Arnica Gel - bruises, swelling, sore muscles, dries quickly, no stain, odor.
• Bert's Bees Miracle Salve - dry skin & callouses (feet, elbows, knees).
• Salonpas mentholated adhesive patches -quick cheap effective, specific.
• Epsom Mineral Salts - for bathing away aches & toxins.

 | Do your ankles feel swollen, achey or stiff after being up in the air?
-
Recently, my gf called me on her way by plane to NY, concerned about an
insect bite on her leg. It was painful, swollen, and looking grim. I
was able to give her quick recommendations so she could travel without
making it worse. Normal airflight makes your legs SWELL because
lymphatic fluid is less able to move against the cabin pressure.
First AID: she cleaned it with peroxide, put on neosporin & a sterile bandage!
SOLUTIONS to off-set leg SWELLING -
• Use gentle Melting Touch Method self-massage at the inguinal lymph nodes.
•
Use ICE CUBE massage on inflamed areas, NOT an ice bag - as you move
the ice, the body re-heats that area, and as you travel to a new spot,
the temperature difference creates a pumping action, and thus more
fluid will circulate through the capillaries. ICE IS YOUR FRIEND!
•
ELEVATE your legs, do ankle circles, bend & straighten your legs,
and by flexing at thigh, knee & ankle, you will accelerate fluid
movement return, and reduce swelling in the ankles.
•
WEAR Support Stockings all the way to the waist - MUCH BETTER than
socks that might create an indentation along the leg, thus trapping
lymphatic fluid below the elastic line. This is called PITTED EDEMA, and can be dangerous, especially for people with diabetes.
